Danny Bourque, a solo animator, broke traditional production barriers by creating a 4K animated short film, Sunspark, entirely on his own. The secret behind this unprecedented achievement? Render Network (RNDR), a decentralized GPU compute marketplace that enabled Bourque to render his 11-minute film efficiently and at a professional level.
The Power of Decentralized Rendering
Sunspark is an ambitious project, featuring over 150 intricately designed shots, dense geometry, and a runtime that demanded high-quality rendering. Without Render Network, Bourque estimated it would have taken months of nonstop processing on his personal computer to complete the film in standard HD, let alone 4K.
