• Former US President Donald Trump unveils his third NFT collection to mark the moment of his arrest.
  • Collectors of NFT would get a piece of the suit he wore when the mugshot was taken, and in addition, be treated to dinner.

Former US president Donald Trump has released his latest edition of Non-Fungible Token (NFT), digitizing an interesting moment of his life when he was arrested in August. Trump was accused of a hush-money scheme in New York and also accused of election interference in Georgia. As a fan of technology, Trump would be releasing an NFT collection for the third time, and the latest one is dubbed “Mugshot Edition.”

Trump announced this on his social media platform Truth Social.

Due to the great excitement and success of my previous Trump digital trading cards, we’re doing it again — The Mugshot Edition, available right now. Plus, buy 47 cards and get a piece of the suit I wore for the ‘Mugshot Photo,’ and also get an invite to a gala dinner with me at Mar-a-Lago! Don’t wait, they’ll go fast (I believe!).

Mugshot Edition contains a total of 47 Trump cards with each selling at $99 each. One interesting addition is that collectors who hold his NFT would get a piece of the suit he wore when the mugshot was taken. That would not end there. Trump will also treat collectors to dinner at the Mar-a-Lago Club and residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

It was a great suit, believe me, a really good suit. It’s all cut up, and you’re gonna get a piece of it,” Trump said in a video on Truth Social, describing the Suit he wore during the arrest.

Why Trump Encourages These NFT Programs

Trump’s NFT program is reported to be a mere publicity stunt rather than an avenue to make money considering the low economic incentives around it. According to reports, the Mugshots Edition is quite different from the traditional NFT collection where creators stand a chance of making a lot of money from the thousands of excessive prices. For this one, only $4,653 can be made.

It is important to note that the Mugshots Edition was created by NFT INT LLC. According to reports, some of the physical items included in the collection are autographed.

In December last year, Trump announced the sales of his “limited edition cards featuring the amazing ART of my Life & Career,” featuring him in a boxing ring, ready to fight. He was also portrayed as a race driver, an astronaut, and featured on a football field. 45,000 NFTs were being sold with each going for $99. In just an hour, the NFTs were sold out.

Reasons for Trump’s NFT programs have been linked to campaign funding even though there are contrary views. It is also believed that Trump may have some input into its conception and development. This implies that licensing the name alone is an interesting business strategy. In the December collection, each NFT sold at the stated price produced $4.45 million in revenue. According to reports, NFT INT LLC receives all the revenue.
