The report highlights how a restaurant operator inside GoTo Foods’ franchise system is using ChatGPT Work for back-office and pricing tasks rather than customer-facing marketing alone.

Evidence and context

OpenAI’s source material identifies the operator as an independent Schlotzsky’s and Cinnabon franchisee and says the system cut menu repricing time by 95%. The same source says the workflow could free up $100,000 in cash flow, but it presents that figure as a potential outcome rather than a verified realized gain. No additional operating details were provided in the source text.

The development fits a broader emphasis at GoTo Foods, the parent platform for Schlotzsky’s and Cinnabon under Roark Capital’s portfolio, on unit-level economics, operational efficiency and digital capabilities. On Feb. 26, 2026, GoTo Foods said it was expanding its executive team to accelerate scalable growth and stressed franchisee economics, while a June 17, 2026 announcement described a Favor delivery partnership across Texas that the company said was intended to strengthen franchisee economics and guest convenience. Those company statements describe strategic intent and should not be read as independently verified profit improvements.

GoTo Foods’ franchise model also shows why back-office efficiency matters. The company’s development site lists Schlotzsky’s royalties at 6% of net sales and marketing fees at 4%, while Cinnabon’s disclosed royalty is 6% with marketing fees of 2.5% or 3% depending on format and location. The published average net sales figures for fiscal 2025 were $1,157,190 for 201 qualifying Schlotzsky’s drive-thru franchises and $665,401 for 189 qualifying Cinnabon enclosed-mall franchises, but those sales averages are not profits and do not establish franchisee returns.

The OpenAI example therefore matters less as a technology launch than as a sign of how franchisees may use AI tools to compress administrative work in businesses where margins are affected by royalties, marketing assessments and other operating costs. The available evidence supports a claim of faster repricing work and a projected cash-flow benefit, but it does not verify broader systemwide adoption or financial results beyond the named operator.

Source

Home / Latest reporting News An independent Schlotzsky’s and Cinnabon franchisee used ChatGPT Work to speed menu repricing and build a workflow that could free up cash flow.
