It is whether Bitcoin can capture a meaningful share of stablecoin settlement that currently happens elsewhere.<\/p>\n<h2>USDT Is Coming to Bitcoin, Not a Tether Blockchain<\/h2>\n<p>Ardoino\u2019s latest comment follows speculation over whether Tether might eventually create a proprietary blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>That is not the strategy the company has announced.<\/p>\n<p>Tether said in August 2025 that it would bring USDT to RGB, which had reached Bitcoin mainnet with its v0.11.1 release. The integration is designed to let users hold and transfer Bitcoin and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/usdt-considered-for-national-payments-bolivia\/\">USDT from<\/a><\/strong> the same wallet while using Bitcoin as the underlying commitment layer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBitcoin deserves a stablecoin that feels truly native, lightweight, private, and scalable,\u201d Ardoino said when Tether announced the project.<\/p>\n<p>RGB matters because it does not work like an Ethereum-style smart-contract network.<\/p>\n<p>Its architecture uses client-side validation, meaning participants validate the contract history relevant to their assets rather than requiring every network node to store and validate the complete contract state.<\/p>\n<p>Contract data remains off-chain. Each recipient instead validates the relevant history locally, while Bitcoin provides the commitments that make those state changes verifiable.<\/p>\n<p>RGB says its assets can also move natively through typed Lightning channels rather than relying on a bridge.<\/p>\n<p>For stablecoins, that combination targets two constraints simultaneously: using Bitcoin as the security foundation without requiring every payment to compete directly for base-layer blockspace.<\/p>\n<h2>Morgan Stanley Puts Institutions Into the Conversation<\/h2>\n<p>The latest institutional angle comes from Viktor Ihnatiuk, co-founder of Bitcoin infrastructure company Utexo.<\/p>\n<p>Ihnatiuk said he discussed USDT on Bitcoin with Morgan Stanley personnel in Washington, with the conversation involving Utexo\u2019s work around the technology. Ardoino subsequently amplified the development with his \u201ccoming home\u201d comment.<\/p>\n<p>There is an important limit to what can be concluded from that exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Stanley has not announced a USDT settlement product, commercial launch or formal deployment. The reported discussions show institutional interest around the infrastructure, not a confirmed banking product.<\/p>\n<p>That distinction also makes the next stage easier to measure.<\/p>\n<p>A bank discussing Bitcoin-native stablecoin infrastructure is interesting. A bank using it to settle real transactions would be materially different.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin Is Competing for Stablecoin Settlement<\/h2>\n<p>Tether already distributes USDT across established blockchain networks, so Bitcoin is not entering an empty market.<\/p>\n<p>It has to win activity from rails where exchanges, wallets, market makers and users already have deep stablecoin infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>That changes how a successful launch should be judged.<\/p>\n<p>Total USDT supply says little about Bitcoin adoption.
