Zcash usually lands in that bucket in the public imagination, yet its design gives platforms a way through. The network splits activity into transparent transactions, which behave like Bitcoin and expose sender, receiver and amount, and shielded transactions, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/what-is-zcash\/\">hide those details using zero-knowledge proofs<\/a>. SwissBorg touches only the transparent side. That choice mirrors what Coinbase, Kraken and Bitpanda already do, and it keeps the platform inside current financial-monitoring rules while the shielded layer stays off the menu.<\/p>\n<p>The practical effect is a trading window. European users get regulated access to Zcash now, roughly ten months before the restrictions bite, with the caveat that they are buying the transparent version of a coin whose whole reputation rests on the shielded one.<\/p>\n<p>Litecoin carries none of that baggage. Three days before the SwissBorg listing, Grayscale filed an amended S-3 registration statement with the SEC, on September 11, seeking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/nyse-files-to-convert-grayscale-litecoin-trust-into-etf\/\">convert its long-running Litecoin Trust<\/a> into a spot exchange-traded fund on NYSE Arca under the ticker LTCN. The trust has traded over the counter since January 2018, and its shares have rarely tracked the Litecoin sitting inside it. An ETF wrapper closes that gap.<\/p>\n<p>The pricing history explains why holders care. Between August 2020 and June 2026 the trust swung to a maximum premium of 5,893% and a maximum discount of 67%, and the distortion has not gone away. On September 9, LTCN closed at $4.01, an 8% discount to its net asset value. Converting to an ETF forces the share price to hug the underlying coin through continuous creation and redemption of shares.<\/p>\n<p>Grayscale is not first. Canary Capital launched the first US spot Litecoin ETF, ticker LTCC, on October 27, 2025, and demand has stayed thin at roughly $7 million in assets. Approval is also not a formality. Europe\u2019s AML technical standards, still being drafted below the level of the headline regulation, will define exactly which privacy features count as prohibited when the 2027 deadline arrives, and whether transparent-only support for coins like Zcash survives past that date. For Litecoin, the nearer trigger is procedural: the SEC\u2019s clock on the NYSE Arca rule change and the effectiveness of Grayscale\u2019s registration statement.
