MARA Holdings<\/strong> (NASDAQ: MARA), a leading energy and digital infrastructure firm, announced the addition of Craig Hart and Nancy Novak as independent directors to its board, effective August 1, 2026. Both bring significant expertise to support MARA’s strategy to expand its energy portfolio and digital infrastructure operations, particularly in hyperscale data centers and power infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Hart, currently Senior Portfolio Manager and Global Co-Head of Energy and Power at Avenue Capital Group, has over 25 years of experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, and private investing. His track record includes leadership roles at U.S. Power Generating Company, where he facilitated its growth into a major independent power producer. Hart described MARA\u2019s focus on energy as “one of the most strategic assets in the digital economy,” signaling alignment with the company’s efforts to integrate energy with digital capital.<\/p>\n

Novak, a recognized authority in hyperscale data center development, previously served as Chief Innovation Officer at Compass Datacenters. During her tenure, she led large-scale projects for hyperscale and cloud clients, introducing innovative construction methods and advancing sustainability initiatives. Her four decades of career experience include senior operational roles at Hensel Phelps and Balfour Beatty, overseeing more than $3.5 billion in projects. Novak emphasized MARA’s potential in “next-generation digital infrastructure,” underscoring her enthusiasm to guide its expansion.<\/p>\n

The appointments follow the departure of Barbara Humpton and Georges Antoun from MARA\u2019s board on July 31, 2026, as part of a planned transition. MARA’s board now consists of seven members, six of whom are independent. According to Fred Thiel, MARA\u2019s chairman and CEO, the additions of Hart and Novak align with the company\u2019s strategy to integrate energy systems with high-performance computing platforms, leveraging its Bitcoin mining foundation to build broader digital infrastructure capabilities.<\/p>\n
