New York Governor Kathy Hochul criticized the Trump administration for not implementing any \u201cmeaningful ethical standards\u201d to curb insider trading in prediction markets.<\/p>\n

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed an executive order banning state employees from betting on prediction markets, following a similar move by Illinois earlier this week. <\/p>\n

\u201cGetting rich by betting on inside information is corruption, plain and simple,\u201d Hochul said<\/a> on Wednesday, adding: \u201cOur actions will ensure that public servants work for the people they represent, not their own personal enrichment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hochul also slammed<\/a> the Trump administration and congressional Republicans for allowing an \u201cethical Wild West\u201d to take hold around prediction markets without implementing any \u201cmeaningful ethical standards\u201d to protect against insider trading.<\/p>\n
