The HKMA and HKAB have launched a taskforce with 15 banks to explore financing solutions for Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis development.<\/p>\n

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) announced on April 22, 2026, the establishment of the Northern Metropolis Financial Advisory Taskforce. Comprised of representatives from 15 leading banks, the Taskforce aims to spearhead financing initiatives to accelerate the development of Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis, a key urban expansion area.<\/p>\n

The Northern Metropolis is positioned as a cornerstone for Hong Kong\u2019s future development, integrating new industrial hubs, residential projects, and innovation zones. The Taskforce is committed to leveraging financial expertise to drive investment and innovation in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n
