He noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI definitely focus on metrics that show sustained usage and real value moving through the network. Transaction activity is probably the clearest signal\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Schwartz revealed that the XRP Ledger has now processed over 4 billion transactions \u201cwith pretty consistent settlement in about four to five seconds\u201d at a tiny fraction of a penny in fees. The ledger ranks in the top ten for \u201creal world activity,\u201d with legacy giants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/ripple-drives-the-internet-of-value-with-xrp-heres-how\/\">like Abrdn<\/a> and Guggenheim tapping the network in recent years, as we have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/ripple-secures-280m-partnership-as-guggenheim-brings-digital-debt-to-xrp-ledger\/\">reported<\/a>. These companies are settling the assets onchain and not just relying on the ledger as a database.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the transaction count, liquidity is a vital metric, added Schwartz. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/what-is-ripple-and-what-is-xrp-origin-and-beginner-guide\/\">XRP<\/a> is the fifth-largest digital asset with a $115 billion market cap. It ranks seventh for trading volume in the past 24 hours, with Solana and First Digital USD just edging it.<\/p>\n<p>However, Schwartz acknowledged that the network has still not developed all the features that the retail market requires. Currently, it\u2019s just capturing the tech-savvy users who \u201cessentially want to gamble.\u201d His team is working on retail products that solve real-world use cases. Stablecoins and tokenized assets are some of the key technologies enabling digital assets to target the mass market, and XRP is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/singapore-pushes-tokenization-into-real-world-with-xrpl-innovation\/\">positioning itself<\/a> at the epicenter of this movement, as we have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/sbi-ripple-asia-partners-doppler-finance\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>XRP Social Sentiment Turns Negative \u2013 Time to Buy?<\/h3>\n<p>While Schwartz fought back against price obsession, XRP continues to take a beating on the price charts. After shedding <strong><span>1.7%<\/span><\/strong> in the past day, it now trades at <strong>$1.90<\/strong>. Market demand still remains high, with trading volume rising 13% to hit $2.5 billion, the seventh highest in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>This price lag in recent months is gradually shifting the conversation around XRP, data from Santiment shows. The platform revealed that there had been a 30% increase in posts criticizing the network in the past month, with its centralization and its slow adoption for real-world utility taking center stage.<\/p>\n<p>Negative sentiment usually sparks a price drop as traders start dumping a token.
