A month later, it debuted on BNB Chain.<\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/solana-sol-explained-2025-speed-scalability-and-real-world-adoption\/\">Solana<\/a>, the launch marks yet another step in its evolution from a payments-first network into financial infrastructure. Solana has become a leader in tokenization, with global giants like JPMorgan issuing commercial paper on the network, while trillion-dollar asset manager Franklin Templeton operates one of the world\u2019s premier tokenized money market funds on the network, as we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/franklin-floats-tokenized-fund-on-solana\/\">reported earlier<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement had little impact on Solana\u2019s price, which dipped <strong><span>4.7%<\/span><\/strong> in the past day, mirroring a wider market correction that shed $140 billion from the overall market cap. SOL trades at <strong>$126.5<\/strong> at press time for a $71.09 market cap. Despite the price drop, the token continues to attract high investor interest, with the trading volume surging <strong><span>70%<\/span> <\/strong>in the past day to top the <strong><span>$5 billion<\/span> <\/strong>mark, the fifth-highest in the market.<\/p>\n<h3>Tokenization Race Heats Up \u2013 Can Ondo Finance Maintain Dominance?<\/h3>\n<p>Ondo Finance\u2019s expansion to Solana opens up its platform to millions of new users; on-chain data consistently ranks Solana among the top networks for active daily users. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/ondo-finance-and-pancakeswap-launch-onchain-stocks-bonds-and-etfs-on-bnb-chain\/\">reported by CNF<\/a>, the company launched on BNB Chain in October in its quest to dominate the tokenization sector, which is projected to hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/vechain-vet-sets-sights-on-16-trillion-tokenization-industry\/\">$16 trillion<\/a> by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/app.rwa.xyz\/stocks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rwa.xyz<\/a>, Ondo Finance is the runaway leader in the tokenization of public stocks, whose value currently stands at $670 million. Ondo controls over half the market with $357 million worth of tokenized stocks on its Global Markets platform.<\/p>\n<p>At $160 million, Backed Finance ranks a distant second, with Securitize and WisdomTree in the top five. However, Backed Finance was <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.kraken.com\/news\/backed-acquisition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> last month by Kraken, one of the leading global exchanges. Kraken plans to add the platform\u2019s tokenized assets to its trading platform, opening it up to a vast pool of investors that could enable it to compete with Ondo Finance.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the total value of tokenized real-world assets stands at $18.6 billion, with Ethereum controlling over 65% of the market.<\/p>\n<p>The latest expansion failed to boost ONDO\u2019s price, which lost <strong><span>10%<\/span><\/strong> in the past 24 hours to trade at <strong>$0.4077<\/strong>. The token has been on a downward spiral in the past week, shedding over <strong><span>14%<\/span><\/strong> despite hitting a new high in total value locked at $1.92 billion.
