Thanks.\u201d These funds enabled the rapid recruitment and payment of salaries for Bitcoin Core developers.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He explained that three major developers, including Wladimir van der Laan and Cory Fields, agreed to join MIT. The email highlighted that some money came from prominent academics, including IMF economist Simon Johnson and cryptographer Ron Rivest. The document also uncovered Epstein\u2019s early fascination with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crypto-news-flash.com\/bitcoin-enters-fear-zone-after-100k-breakdown-sentiment-suggests-a-bullish-btc-setup\/\"><span>Bitcoin (BTC)<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Ito handed in his resignation in September 2019, after the investigations revealed that the prestigious research facility had received funding from Epstein.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>More Details Unraveled and Implications for Bitcoin<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span>MIT had disclosed that Epstein had donated a total of $850,000 to the institution, of which $525,000 was directed at the Media Lab.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, investigative journalist Ronan Farrow claimed that the MIT Media Lab had received $7.5 million via Epstein. This is, besides an anonymous $5 million donation from Epstein associate Leon Black.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Furthermore, the documents reveal Epstein\u2019s influence reached deeper into Bitcoin circles than previously acknowledged.
